Black Locust is used for balance during times of change, which is perfect for a holiday that celebrates the balance of light and dark in the Autumn Equinox. A time when the weather shifts, our motivations shift, and our daily schedules become more exacting.

Like most amazingly magical things, the nature of Black Locust brings a duality that can help us achieve balance. The flowers are beautiful, edible, and sweetly scented. Whereas, the branches are covered in protective thorns. Which I learned firsthand, leaves a sting that lasts a while! Both aspects exist in harmony to help the other.

Black Locust balances the assertive and nurturing aspects of ourselves. The independent side and the side that needs community. If you have trouble asking for help, this is for you. Or if you have trouble making your own decisions, this is for you. We’re aiming for that sweet spot.
