Equinox Egg Candle

Nesting Ball

Pine Pollen Cascarilla

Bone Nest

We’re starting off with The Nesting Box. This one is full of Ostara magick using eggshell as a vessel, wool nested in vine, eggshell as protection, and acorns nested in bone.

The Equinox Egg Candle! These precious, little creations are full of meaning and magick. I’m so proud of them really.

Eggs symbolize new life, new beginnings, transitions, and creativity. I wanted to bring that energy to you in a really tangible way, so I’ve used eggshell here as a vessel.

The candles are filled and topped with Nettle for that Greening protection, pink Roses for sweet-spring love, and Daffodils for that joyful energy of course. There’s also a light dusting of Robin egg blue for that sacred spring harbinger.

We’re very lucky to have some gorgeous colorful eggs from my friend Mindy and her chickens! Tones of blue and green this year that I just keep staring at.

Nesting Balls! I am smitten! These nesting balls are made from woven Grapevine, I love the autumn equinox balance of this, filled full with locally-sourced alpaca wool, and strung with suede.

Nesting balls attract backyard birds to your home, giving them a little help with gathering their spring nesting materials.

As we honor their energy through the use of their discarded feathers, shells, and nests- I thought it only right that we give back a little cozy.

Alpacas are considered sacred and a gift from Mother Earth in Andean cultures. They bring a gentle, balancing energy that offers community.

The box is wrapped with a little Sparrow feather.

Pine Pollen Cascarilla! And this time it’s coming in a corked egg! I can’t, I’m so excited about these.

I love Cascarilla. Love it. It is typically made from chicken egg shells. The shells form a protective barrier around the embryo, and that protective power carries over into the powder made from the shells. For me, using it at this time of year also brings that rebirth and renewal energy associated with Ostara and fresh starts.

I will often add different plants to my Cascarilla to enhance a particular energy. In the past, I’ve paired it with Roses, White Cedar, and Dandelion. This turn we’re using Pine Pollen!

Pine has been used to cleanse and protect sacred spaces for millennia. It is also associated with rebirth energy. And I just love the idea of using pollen magick at Ostara!

Cascarilla can be sprinkled about in many ways. Add a pinch to your bath or mop water. Dust a bit on your body or hands if you will be around a lot of people. Add it to candles, incense, and spells to amplify the protection power. I use it seasonally to reset the protective boundaries of our home, like lot lines, doorways, and windowsills.

Many thanks to my friend Mindy for all the gorgeous eggs from her chickens!

Bone Nests! Y’all. I love them. The nest is made from a Burr acorn cap. Acorns are a gift, witch to witch, to recognize one another.

The nest is filled with Oak Moss, as a connection to the acorn, Usnea, little clay birdsong eggs, and a butterfly for sweetness.

The nest is held tenderly by one of my found deer vertebrae that I cleaned myself. And to continue our bone art into this season, each bone is adorned with little birds and spring vines.

Each acorn cap was paired up with each bone so they fit one another. I love the honor that we can show to the cycles of things when we pair beginnings and bones.

Deer bring grace and flexibility as we maneuver through our days. Usnea, once believed to be the hair of woodland spirits, is used in protection charms in Celtic traditions.
