Raven Hag Tapers! Raven Hag Tapers with lots of Mugwort and shiny stars! Ahhh, I’m in love with this iteration of our ritual torches. You’ll get a set of three wrapped in crushed velvet. Velvet has been used for protection.

Mullein Torches, aka Witches’ Candles or Hag Tapers, are made from the stalk and dried out flowering head of two year old Mullein. For ages they’ve been dipped in tallow or beeswax to make torches!

They were used for practical reasons, but also in ceremony. These candles are a beautiful tool for banishing negative energies, thinning the veil, and preparing for divination. They can heighten crossroads magick as well as spirit connections. I read that they got their nickname, Witches’ Candles, when witches would use them to light their way as they’d sneak into the night to meet and gather plants. Boss!

To the moody black beeswax and Mullein, I added Mugwort to take us deep, so that we can know ourselves better. Mugwort stirs visions and illuminates things that need to change. It prompts lucid dreaming and can aid in psychic workings. It’s a dark and beautiful plant that quiets the noise so we can be present for meditative and magick work.

I also added some shiny rose gold flakes and golden stars to bring nighttime forest walk energy. They’re vegan and nontoxic.
