Seer’s Balm. Rest, Ritual, and Divination.
Seer’s Balm is a seasonal favorite of mine for its depth and presence. This luscious balm has a warming effect for extremities, but is still calming for all of us fire types. It’s anti-inflammatory and soothing in nature, helping ease stress and tension in the body for rest and ritual.
The foundation of the balm is Mugwort. Mugwort takes us deep. Physically, it has amazing transdermal properties that drag whatever it’s partnered with down deep into muscular tissues and joints. Mugwort also takes us deep into ourselves so that we can know ourselves better. It stirs visions and illuminates things that need to change. It prompts lucid dreaming and can aid in psychic workings.
Yarrow flower is a wonderful support to Mugwort. It has similar relaxing properties that have historically been used during a woman’s moon time and special ritual moments.
They are joined by Tulsi (Holy Basil), the Queen of Herbs, Destroyer of Demons. There’s pretty much nothing that this gift-to-the-world-plant won’t help with. She is a happy warrior, going where needed most.
Lastly, the balm was infused with fresh green sappy Spruce cones and resin, so healing for the body and spirit. Spruce offers resilience and the energy of renewals, which translates to hope during the dark days. Spruce is also used as a powerful cleanser and protector, which we need during Samhain shadow workings.
The plants offered here are protective in nature. They offer a shield while they go deep to the places where they are needed the most. They offer you the chance to see deeper into your motives and dreams. Rub into warm skin or add to your bath for a relaxing, sacred experience.
What’s a ritual balm? Of course you can use any of my balms for skin healing, nourishing, and protection. But they have also been crafted to be used in ritual. Apply your balm before quiet times, after bathing, or before rituals to prepare yourself for the moment and invite in that specific energy. You can also use the balms to anoint candles and apply herbs, just like you would a consecrating oil.
* Please do not use Mugwort if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
