Motherwort Protection Pendant
The Motherwort Pendant! I was so inspired by my own magical research into Motherwort season, specifically the Motherwort charm bag, that I added a pendant to the collection! The Motherwort Pendant, for protection, for heartache, for peace, for transformations, and for guidance.
She is truly Mother. She abundantly gives, yet has her own spikes in place for protection. She is loved by Freya, which explains a lot.
Magically, Motherwort has been used for healing heartache, including pain around maternal dynamics and motherhood. She gives a more balanced outlook on life when we’re feeling overwhelmed and is a protector of women and children.
If hanging a bundle of Motherwort over your door will keep away ghosts and evil spirits, then imagine the protection of hanging her over your heart? She is a momma bear guard.
Motherwort has also been used during times when souls are coming into and leaving this world. She offers peace and strength for both new beginnings and eventual endings. Wear her during times of great transition.
The bitter medicine she offers also translates into truth magick. When you’re working through stages of denial, perpetual people-pleasing, and swallowing your words and feelings- she brings truth. Wear her when you’re ready for your truth.
When you feel in need of the guidance and protection of your matriarchal line, wear her to connect to your loved ones who are always with you. When dried, she smells like my Monie- fresh cut grass and a hint smoke from the porchswing.
I chose this circle for our pendant as a nod to The Wheel of the Year that we are always riding. As a reminder that everything comes back around. There is always hope to be had and preparation to be done.
