Mint & Clementine  Elixir: The Celebrating.

New! Mint at Yule is joining with Clementine!

My original Mint Elixir is such a beautiful blend of Mint all grown on our property. Chocolate Mint, wild Water Mint, Catnip, Lemon Mint, Grapefruit Mint, native Slender Mountain Mint, Apple Mint, and a couple more varieties that are naturalizing themselves throughout the garden and around the cauldron.

Mint has of course been used for millenia to help calm digestive distress and the nervous system. I have especially enjoyed it as an elixir for a little after-dinner treat to myself that also supports my body in the process.

Clementine was the obvious (even though it took forever for me to see it) pairing for Yule. Citrus season, joy vibes, and the wonderful bitter benefits of Orange, all fit like a puzzle piece. The Mint balances any bitterness and like three seconds after you swallow, the Clementine lingers on the tongue.

Magically, Mint has been used for healing, protection, and to attract prosperity and visionary dreams. Clementines bring joy, happiness, and creativity. They remind us of the sun’s return at Yule and to remain positive in the darker days.

An elixir is somewhere between a tincture and a syrup. The herbs are made into an alcohol-based tincture and then lightly sweetened, in this case with local honey. It makes tinctures more palatable and I think a lot of fun to add to drinks for a little beverage magic.

*Though, I mostly only work with tonic herbs, please do research on all your herbs before taking them as contraindications can happen on a personal level.
