Forget-Me-Not Flower Essence. This essence was made on the last day of May when the pale blue blooms were in full display. Part of magick making is the work of harvesting and preparing while you can for a later day when you can’t.

Forget-Me-Not flowers give us perspective when experiencing a great loss. They show us the enduring connections we keep even when separated by life and death. Forget-Me-Nots help us to hold our memories in connection and to not get lost in the emotions of loss and nostalgia.

Forget-Me-Nots change their color once the flower has been pollinated. The yellow ring in the center fades to a creamy brown. This signals bees that there is no longer any nectar left. The flowers change color to inform the bees!

This showing, that the nectar has been appreciated and used, is an acknowledgment of the coming end. A passing. A life well spent giving. Soaking in warm sun and fuzzy legs and the breeze of wingbeats. We should all be so lucky!

This aspect means peace to me. Peace with passings. Acknowledging a life well-lived and accepting the cycle of all things. Not just accepting, but connecting to the process.
