Elderberry Elixir with Clove: The Letting Go. Immune Support and Connection Through Ritual.
Elderberry Elixir! Elderberry Elixir is back! I don’t need to go into the power of Elderberry here, considering it is so justifiably famous for its immune boosting abilities.
Our family has always taken Elderberry Syrup throughout the sick seasons, and now I take mine in the form of an elixir.
Magically, Elderberry is a symbol of ritual. It has been used throughout cultures and centuries to consecrate rituals of all kinds. I love this so much. I’ve always been attracted to rituals and nothing calms me quicker and connects me to the moment faster than beginning the steps of a ritual.
Ritual gives us connection and community. It orders our mind and heart so that we can make clear decisions, have trust in ourselves, show up better in our relationships, and ease any constant tensions.
My Elder Elixir has always come with a little Cinnamon, Ginger, and Clove in the brew. Lately, I’ve leaned into the Clove aspect and magick. In ancient Rome, Cloves were so beneficial and prized that they were actually worth more than gold.
Clove is a cleansing and protective plant, both for the body and spirit. It’s ruled by Jupiter, making it a fragrant way to draw abundance, luck, and prosperity. In fact, this is how Clove-studded pomanders came to be. They were given for luck and prosperity in the new year. We tend to do this at Yule, however for witches, Samhain is the ending of one year and the beginning of another. It felt fitting to give you Cloves at this time of year both for protection and prosperity.
*Though, I mostly only work with tonic herbs, please do research on all your herbs before taking them as contraindications can happen on a personal level.
