Introducing my sun-loving mask for summer solstice days: Sunny Honey Mask!

This mask is full of all the golden things: Yellow clay, Calendula, Lemon, Honey, and Turmeric. Y’all it’s so bright and it is amazing at tightening and exfoliating. It leaves my skin feeling so smooth and is perfect for the sweaty, dirty days ahead.

French yellow clay is so special. It is full of minerals that are beneficial for your skin. The main one being Iron actually! Another Iron link in this holiday. Like the rest of my masks, Sunny Honey is useful for cleansing and exfoliating, tightening and shrinking pores, brightening and nourishing, and stimulating blood circulation for a healthy glow.

Magically, Calendula, as a solar flower, shines light on what needs healing. It finds the hidden and brings it out to be moved along and processed. It offers this same healing and protection for skin, as it is anti-inflammatory and soothing in nature.

Lemon is of course an astringent that helps brighten, tighten, and cleanse. In fact, this is also how its magick works. It has been used for millennia as a mood brightener and a space cleanser.

Oh, honey! Honey is honored at the solstice as we revel in the golden liquid and all it’s benefits and connection to the sun. Honey is deeply moisturizing with enzymes that help it soften from within. It is a mild cleanser that brightens and soothes.

Turmeric is antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, meaning it helps with infections, like breakouts, by both cleansing and soothing. It is known to brighten and help with darker under eye areas as well. Magically, this golden friend is used for protection. Some cultures carry the roots or leaves as talismans, and some even add the powder to their sacred circles.
