Circe, the Perfume
“I stepped into those woods and my life began.” Introducing the signature scent for Lughnasadh: Circe, the Perfume.
For me, some scents come together almost too easily to be believed. But some come together in a complex, winding way that can only be described as alchemical. That is how Circe came to be and it feels fitting. It’s not too sweet, much like Circe herself, but has a wildness to it that reminds me of meadows and exiled magick on the lush and rocky island of Aeaea.
“Only that: we are here. This is what it means to swim in the tide, to walk the earth and feel it touch your feet. This is what it means to be alive.”
As you’ve seen, I connect Lavender with this season, both of which are associated with Circe, mother of witches. I also used Circe’s favorites of Myrrh resin, Linden-infused oil, citrus for that sunny Mediterranean energy, Ylang Ylang for a little of her wildness, and Vetiver, which has this grassy, Cypress, and Frankincense scent that whisks you away to somewhere far off. To round out all that magical Greekness, I’ve also added a bit of rock from Mt Olympus which we visited last spring!
“The breeze blew carrying the scent of Linden flowers.” Magically, Linden is used for heart healing, protection, and drawing abundance. Unsurprisingly, Vetiver holds the very same magick. Myrrh amplifies the plants it’s paired with and has been a sacred part of ritual for thousands of years.
I’m also especially fond of the bottle this time with its Greek architecture inspired design. There is a roller ball or dab wand option.
