Broom & Banish

Broom & Banish is a plant-spiked powder to sprinkle on rugs, carpets, floors, and furniture for deep cleaning on a practical and energetic level. You allow it to sit while you visualize everything from the winter that you want soaked up and rid of. Then simply vacuum and clean up all the stale scents and energy!

I love to play around with letting my intuition pull from the apothecary what wants to be pulled. The last couple of years we’ve used a blend that felt more heart forward, sort of cheery.

This year, different plants stepped forward. Plants that have a strong protection magick. Plants that feel like sentinels. That have a scent of serious work.

Eucalyptus, Russsian Sage, Clementine, Star Anise, Cloves, and Tulips.

Clove and Sage have been used for ages to cleanse a space from negative influence, while offering protection to those present.

Eucalyptus, one of the notorious plants in the highly protective Thieve’s Oil, clears the mind from frustration, regret, and exhaustion. This “clearing away” energy of Eucalyptus pairs so beautifully with Star Anise, which cleanses away negative energy while offering protection from the evil eye.

To round out the fortress aspect of the blend, there’s Clementine bringing joyful creativity to the home and Tulip honoring the season and our hope for more love in this world.

I’ve also topped these gorgeous jars with a chunk of quartz to heighten the magick, power, and protection.
