Bonefire Incense Holder

Bonefire Incense Holders are back for the fire holiday of Litha! Yes, bonefires! Sacred fires were once kindled with bones for power, protection, and sacrifice. The cattle would be led through the smoke of these sacred fires to bless and protect them for the year. Hearths would be cleaned out and built anew with these sacred flames.

Bones that HOLD fire… and smoke. These incense holders are the small vertebrae of a deer that I found after a winter melt. Months of cleaning and setting them out in the sun and they were ready to be painted with a gold 8-point star for The Wheel.

Deer bring a graceful and adaptable energy into our lives, which is especially balancing for these mid-spring days of passion.

Each vertebrae will also come with a couple of sticks of my favorite incense to get you started.
