Atlas Bone Vase

We’re continuing my bone art! Imbolc gave us sheep jaws and Ostara offered bone nests. For Beltane, I wanted to lean into the May Day flower bouquets and floral crowns with a bone that could hold the blooms. Atlas Bones!

Atlas bones are perfect for holding little bouquets. You can either hang them on the wall or even just let them stand like little vases.

I left one side “natural” and gave the other side this fun, blooming vibe of polka dots to match the season. Many ways to use this one.

Atlas bones are the very tippy top vertebrae that hold up our heads. They’re named after Atlas, the Titan cursed to carry the entire sky. Atlas bones are also believed to be connected to the spiritual or magical aspect of our bodies.

I like this association right now- how we all feel like the sky is falling down and I know we’re feeling the weight of that- and you know, let’s put flowers in that spot and reconnect to our magick. That was my feeling with these.

The bones are deer bones, found and cleaned by yours truly. I’ll be sending this little bouquet of Roses with them to get you started.
